To think that serving notice after resignation is a bliss. Its not, really. Not after a series of brainless jobstreet clicking, especially.
Its even worst when ALL that the jobs that I clicked on is two hours drive a day.
Most jobs are in need of people urgently.
And they wanted me to show up for interview first thing in the morning.
I told them I am two hours drive away and they want me to show up in the afternoon instead.
I requested for postpone. They refused. I rejected the offer.
Now, repeat the whole process ten times.
Damn exhausting ok! Both physically and emotionally.
That said, its not that did not try at all. I tried to overcome the geographical barrier. I drove there, fully aware of the cost of transportation versus the probability of getting hired. Basically it was:
Took leave a day before. Prepare all resumes, photos, certs and everything at night.
Start journey in the morning. Reach during lunch time.
Went for interview.
Eat late lunch. Drove for another two hours to go home.
Reached, passed out and wake up for supper.
Sleep back and go to work the day after.
So, basically it was a tiring process. I was really, really, exhausted, and I wasted a lot of money traveling. The subsequent call for interviews, well, I got excited when I got the call, but it just went downhill after that when I think how to go, what is the best route to take and whether or not I knew the place enough to drive there. In the end after factoring everything, I decide just to fuck it.
Blah. I should just move up first. Which is exactly my plan anyway, and I did the right thing by effing the current employer first. I could do without the snide and sinister remarks that accompanies every leave taking process.
LOL. effed. Take care ya. and be safe if u are on the road. last thing i wanna hear is u feeling so sleepy that u almost doze off..
Move first, otherwise how many times do you want to drive like that whenever there is an interview. So in the meantime, just relax and have a kit kat.
SC-thanks for your concern. trust me, it happens. :p
renee-yeah you are right. i should just move my arse up there first. saves all the traveling time, energy and cost.
I know it happens. That’s why i am telling you to take care mah.
Ok, shall we split on a kit kat then? LOL
SC-Shhhh! Cannot broadcast it here! Wait til they know i SMS while driving, I’ll be grounded =.=
