My replacement is screwed and will still be screwed even worst after I left. Because the management thought they paid me to slack at work, they refuse to hire an equal replacement but instead, wanted someone from a lower position level to transfer and slack on my behalf.
Lo and behold! She only managed to take over like, some of my job and her (ex)manager was complaining about her workload and saying that she was stressed out having to handle the responsibility.
She has to do alot of paperwork, she has to keep revising stuffs, she has to be on call at all times (yes, even midnight. Been there, done that all the time), she has to come to work whenever the line has problems, she has to be able to keep track of every single products that come out of the line to be shipped, she has to take instructions from so many engineers and she has to take so much initiative to find out information from other people to get the job done and she basically looked stressed out and harrassed all the time, he says. Even the HR manager tell me not to put pressure on her.
I was like, uhh, hello?! I didn’t even put up my oh-so-strict face. I’ve been so patient to teach her the ropes and basically just making sure that she had better not screw up once I leave. Besides, it’s only part of my job. I still have a lot more things to do that, no doubt after I left, will be left undone.
Forget about the minutiae reports of, ohh every single thing that you guys want but never bother to check if its already done.
Forget about keeping track of all those foreign operators. Good luck making sure they come to work and behave and do the right things. Oh, and take the blame and bear the brunt of the upper management if they screwed up. (Happens all the time too, language barrier is the biggest culprit)
But hey, if they thought my job is so easy that even an operator could do it and assigning a clerk to takeover my job is more cost saving than hiring an equal (not that they pay well anyway!), then its none of my business. Just goes on to show that they are stooping even lower, and frankly, it just doesn’t amaze me anymore.

Frankly it happens everywhere. One thinks that another job is easier compare to others. Wait till they are in the position themselves.
yep, i have no doubt everyone has their own job scope. i also believe in ranks and hierarchy. if an operator level employee can do a degree holder’s job, there is no such need to go for higher education.
and the biggest irony is that, her ex manager knows how hard my job is, while my manager just shake his butt and leave and thinks everything runs in autopilot mode regardless whether we are there or not.
oh well, if an operator can do a cert holder’s job, then no point for us to spend so much on our education. Then again, a person without a cert can do a lot of other things as well. Hmm..

lalalala. of course i am taking it easy. i am taking it real easy. if she really screws up, it just goes on to show that not everyone is up to the job. serves them well.
btw, in this case i am referring to the management’s decision. not insulting or looking down on those people that does not have qualification. a lot of wonderful and capable people i know does not have paper qualification. its not an issue here, really.

sometimes i do wonder what’s the job scopes for. no point specifying one if we have to do A-Z.
adjustment? unless the sky falls down, she will have an adjustment of some sorts. we have been fighting for operators tier advancement since 2 years back. they still receive the minimal entry level wages despite doing the line leader’s job. i doubt the situation will improve. like i say, why waste on the wages when they can use the money for more fancy functions in 5 star hotels?

seriously, i dun really mind the PSPH part. the geram part is PSPH d they think we din work at all, hence the refusal to hire a replacement.
and besides, that girl’s manager ask why never inform must come to work on call at night one, cos if he knows he wont let her transfer wor. i said, that is the surprise lor….nasty eh?
