I have been taking shoes out of my shoes cabinet to include in my daily shoe wearing routine. I have this bad habit of buying the shoes and not wearing them, especially when the shoes are really a bargain. I don’t know, its as if I am buying shoes to fill into this bottomless pit of … something, and I realize I really have to stop buying and start wearing.

No luck so far. I am still buying. =.=

Back then, when I was a factory minion, my shoes are for wearing it from the house to the car and from the car to the office. That’s it. I don’t need fancy shoes for work, it is hazardous. So back then, fancy shoes are for weekends, or after work, or that short trip to and from car.

Which just defies the logic of buying so many shoes, but I still did. =.=

Right now, it doesn’t matter what shoes I wear, as long as it is meant for walking. And so far I wore SLIPPERS to work.

and SLIPPERS to shop.

and SLIPPERS to eat.

and SLIPPERS to everywhere else.

MY GOD! Why do I buy so many pairs of shoes when a pair of cheap pink slippers is sufficient?!

Realizing that, I started to sort through the shoebinet (no such word, I created it after watch HIMYM) and took out some shoes to wear. Started off with some flat pumps because hell no, I can never wear high heels without keeling over even though I have a few pairs of them.

You know, those flat pumps, which looks comfortable, and sensible and all that? Liar. They made my feet peel. Back, front, sides, they bruised my feet. Tried two pairs and wondered if I should just chuck them away. Bad, bad pumps. To their defense, I suppose bargain shoes are not meant to be worn traipsing around shopping malls.

For two different days in two different weeks, I tried two pairs of pumps and ended up with foot sores. what should I do with them? They are nice and all, but they hurt like mad, its not pretty anymore.

Should I just bin them? Give them away, or something along the line?

And then there are still kitten heels, heels and some peeptoes waiting to be tried on.

=.= Serves me right for buying them in the first place.

Okay, enough of my bloodshot eyes already. Let’s continue my Penang trip photos, because it was really backdated.

I am in awe. Kek Lok Si is a serenely beautiful place, despite the not so sightly area where they peddle all sorts of goods.

The intricate designs and robust colours were truly captivating. The roof carving, the statues, they are all really beautiful. We took the opportunity to absorb the Zen aura of this place.

Take a deep breath… 1, 2….3…ahhh… I’ve got some Zen in me.

All the buildup anticipation, all the kancheong (nervous?!), all the worries and scares are basically over.

I am done with LASIK! This is how my eyes look like now:

post lasik eyes

The burst blood vessels will heal in a few months time and there’s just nothing to worry about.

Let me talk about my experience, because it was really memorable and life changing.

Day 0: The surgery
Day 1: Follow up Check

Day 2: 25th July 2010

I am still wearing the protective shade everywhere I go. The eyes are recovering well. I felt as if I’ve never had the surgery at all. It no longer stings when I apply eyedrops. The eyedrop produces eye crust, which is a bitch to clean up because I am not supposed to rub my eyes. Argh!!!

According to the doctor, the flap is already healed and in place after 24 hours, and only the scar remains. In due time, the scar will heal itself, give take 3 to 6 months, so post operative care is really important. Keep using the eyedrops and keep clean to prevent infection.

Eyedrops and natural tears.

I am suppose to put on natural tears once every half an hour. Sheesh.

I can see clearly, although things appear to be a little brighter than usual. Maybe I am just too used to wearing the shades all the time. Just that when things get a little blurry (it happens, don’t panic), just take a few deep breaths and blink a few times.

I did try to put on my old specs, and they give me headaches. :/

old specs
Byebye. I hope I never need to use these again. :)

Its a waste, but I really don’t know what to do with these.

I still have to wear the protective eye thingy to sleep for a whole week, and also, I wear goggles to bathe to prevent water from going into the eyes. Instead of splashing water onto the face, I used face towel. It was not really written in the guidebook per se, but better be careful and safe than sorry, right?
